Description
The zeitgeist of the 1970s is evident in the best sense on this extremely precise and finely crafted band. The square-cut, satin-finished links are lined up in steps in the masonry bond and were precisely joined together by invisible hinges and a patent security latch.
The geometric offset, the sharp lines, the diffuse reflections continuing on the surface resulting in a moirée effect, and the highly reflective bezels created by ridged rods are reminiscent of the early days of microsystems technology in the 1970s. The aesthetics of miniaturized technology and its futuristic appearance were exemplary in the designs of the time, and the increasingly tech-savvy consumers saw it as the future. This also fits equally well with the techno-futurism celebrated today by fashion designers of a “coded culture” in search of designs for tomorrow drawing back onto yesterday’s future.
The heavy 18 ct white gold band has a high-quality finish and is in very well maintained, unscratched condition.
