Description
This remarkable piece of jewelry from the 1960s impressively reflects the aesthetics of its time. The ring is masterfully crafted from 18 carat (750/000) yellow gold, its design breathing the spirit of modernism: it is dynamic, architecturally sophisticated and at the same time playfully light.
Five gold ribs layered on top of each other form a seemingly floating structure that is reminiscent of avant-garde design of the time – from the Atomic Style to Op Art. In the center sits a square of 3 3 bright pink corundums (synthetic rubies), their colorfulness embodying self-confidence and glamour. A true statement of the era in which women’s fashion emancipated itself, jewelry became a conscious self-expression and the possibility of producing minerals using laboratory techniques was celebrated.
