Peter Behrens, Theodor Fischer, Hermann Muthesius, Bruno Paul, Hans Poelzig, Richard Riemerschmid, Josef Hoffmann, Adelbert Niemeyer, Gertrud Kleinhempel, Margarete von Brauchitsch, Alfred Roller, Otto Gußmann and Ferdinand Avenarius belonged to the advisory committee. They assorted machine-made and hand-made staple goods for housing, tableware and kitchenware, especially glass, ceramics and hardware. The selection aimed at „types“, which can be used for mass production.
For the first time in germany this book had set manifestation of technical progress against traditional craft-oriented appraoches.
