Heinrich Löffelhardt
The work of Heinrich Löffelhardt (1901-1979) for the industry covers a time period of over 40 years, with what were the years of his design-activity of the fifties and sixties the most creative. As a proponent of the “good form”, he was of the opinion, that not only the beautiful colorful merchandise-world of fashionable season-articles, but time-honored should give way to an objectively geared, up-to-date, broadly available and comprehensible object-formation.
This corresponded to the efforts to obtain the “good form” in the German Werkbund. Also Heinrich Löffelhardt joined the “Werkbund”, again constituting itself after the war. Much from Löffelhardt’s extensive work waits to be still rediscovered.
